North Jingle Pot
As one the less developed parts of the city, country roads wind through valleys, passing acre after acre of productive land and forest. Lying at the foot of Mount Benson, properties here have the Mountain as a backdrop to the picturesque landscape over their home in the countryside. Dwellings in the area range from old farm homes in need of repair to upscale country homes with enough room for larger families. Of course, you can find anything in-between too.
While you are definitely in a quiet area that’s disconnected from the buzz of the city, you are also just a short drive from the amenities of Nanaimo. Westwood Lake, and Brennen Lake are not too far away, and Ammonite Falls offers some great trails through the BC rain forest. The trails can be a little rugged as they are made for mountain biking, but you can find your way to the creek featuring a small waterfall. At the bottom of the fall, you can find fossils in the layers of sedimentary rock.
In the neighbourhood, you will find Mountain View Elementary. Nanaimo District Secondary is the nearest high school situated down by the University. You will definitely need a car living here; walkability, and public transit are not the best words to describe Jingle Pot. If you are seeking a slower pace of life, just minutes from the city, a self-sustaining acreage, or room for some horses, North Jingle Pot is a great place to look to find the perfect place to call home.
